Ivace+i allocates €17.5 million to boost tech transfer in Valencia
The Valencian Institute of Competitiveness and Innovation (Ivace+i) has approved two separate funding rounds to strengthen the region’s innovation ecosystem. Around €2 million will support 17 projects that bring advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, big‑data analytics, virtual and augmented reality to small and medium‑sized enterprises, with the aim of spreading the solutions across other Valencian firms.
A second programme provides €15.5 million to Valencian technology centres for 29 R&D projects, focusing on AI, digital navigation, water purification and desalination, and other strategic STEP technologies. The average grant per project is about €540,000. Both programmes are backed by the regional minister for Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Marián Cano, who highlighted the importance of linking research with industry to improve competitiveness and reduce dependence on external suppliers.
