Overview

In late July 2026 the Valencian Institute of Competitiveness and Innovation (Ivace+i) approved two funding rounds totalling €17.5 million. About €2 million was earmarked for 17 projects that introduce advanced technologies—AI, big‑data, VR/AR—to small and medium‑sized enterprises, while €15.5 million supported 29 R&D projects at technology centres, focusing on AI, digital navigation, water purification and other strategic STEP technologies.

A few days later, on 4 August 2026, Ivace+i announced an additional €2.9 million to create nine new Units of Scientific Innovation for Business (UCIE) at universities and research centres. This brings the UCIE network to 22 active units and targets health, AI, agri‑food and biotechnology, aiming to accelerate the transfer of scientific results to the Valencian industrial base. Both allocations were highlighted by Regional Minister Marián Cano as steps to strengthen the link between research and industry and boost the region’s competitiveness.
