Ivace+i awards 11.1 million euros for R&D projects in Valencia

The Valencian Institute for Competitiveness and Innovation (Ivace+i) has approved 11.1 million euros in grants to support 46 corporate R&D projects within the Valencian Community. The funding, which is co-financed at 60% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2021-2027, is provided as non-repayable subsidies through a competitive bidding process.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the primary beneficiaries, accounting for approximately 60% of the selected projects. Within this group, micro-enterprises and small businesses represent more than half of the total, while medium-sized companies account for 13%. Large corporations received the remaining 40% of the funding.

The projects focus on four main areas: health, advanced industry, circular economy, and infrastructure. Circular economy initiatives lead the thematic distribution at nearly 30%, followed by enabling technologies at 17%. Other targeted sectors include sustainable habitat, decarbonization, and sustainable mobility. Approximately one-third of the supported proposals are collaborative efforts between companies, while the remaining 70% are individual projects.
