Iván Cepeda acknowledges Colombia's president-elect Abelardo De la Espriella

Senator Iván Cepeda of the Historic Pact recognized the election results that named Abelardo De la Espriella as Colombia's new president. Cepeda framed the acknowledgment as a democratic responsibility, while denouncing alleged foreign interference from the United States and the use of artificial‑intelligence tools to manipulate voting.

Former Magdalena governor Carlos Caicedo called for a broad left‑wing front to unite progressive forces after the vote. He pledged support for Cepeda to lead the opposition, proposed rebuilding the Fuerza Ciudadana movement within the new coalition, and outlined priorities such as education, health, justice and regional development for upcoming territorial elections.
