Ivory Coast and Morocco advance national digital transformation strategies
Ivory Coast and Morocco are advancing major national digital transformation strategies to bolster economic competitiveness and sovereignty.
In Ivory Coast, Minister of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation Djibril Ouattara has called on the private sector to engage with the PND 2026-2030 development plan. The national digital strategy is built upon seven pillars and approximately forty structural projects. These initiatives aim to modernize public administration, increase business competitiveness, and improve youth employability through technological innovation.
Morocco is implementing its ‘Morocco Digital 2030’ strategy, which seeks to establish the digital sector as a strategic economic pillar alongside agriculture and tourism. Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch has emphasized using digital tools for national sovereignty and social inclusion. Public investment in digital technologies in Morocco has seen a significant increase, rising from 11 million dirhams in 2021 to over 1.7 billion dirhams in 2024. The strategy focuses on mass training for digital professions, supporting startups, and attracting international R&D centers, such as Oracle in Agadir.
