West African and Moroccan digital transformation initiatives

A key goal of this initiative is to integrate Moroccan Darija and Amazigh into the ‘idarati.ma’ platform to facilitate citizen interaction with government services through the Al-Jazari Institute. By 28 August 2026, the partnership with India evolved to include leveraging India’s experience with multilingual AI, such as the BHASHINI platform. The collaboration aims to use both large and small language models to make Morocco’s digital transformation more inclusive. This initiative supports the expansion of the Al-Jazari Institute into a national network to support Arabic, Amazigh, and Darija within digital public services. On 9 September 2026, Morocco unveiled its ‘Morocco AI 2030’ roadmap, a national strategy designed to establish digital sovereignty and drive economic growth.
