Ivory Coast Education Ministry investigates death of teacher in Bédiala

The Ivorian Minister of National Education, Dr. N'Guessan Koffi, has called for calm following the death of Keïta Daouda, a teacher at the Lycée Moderne de Bédiala. The incident occurred on September 26, 2026, on the Daloa-Bédiala axis.

According to reports from the Haut-Sassandra Education-Training sector unions, the teacher was struck by a rope used as a barrier while walking behind a large truck. The Ministry has launched an investigation to establish the exact circumstances of the death and has urged the public to avoid premature accusations or comments that could disturb public order.
