Kayseri advances 1.5 billion TL Kartal multi-level junction project

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality has announced that the Kartal multi-level junction project has reached 70 percent physical completion. The project, which carries an investment value of approximately 1.5 billion TL, aims to reduce traffic congestion and enhance the city's transportation infrastructure.

During a site visit, Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç provided technical details, noting that the 168,000 square meter project includes a 445 meter tunnel, three underpasses, and over 2,500 fore piles. While the official contract completion date is June 2027, officials expect the junction to open to traffic in early 2027 due to rapid progress in concrete works.

The project is financed through a World Bank loan. Mayor Büyükkılıç addressed previous concerns regarding worker wage delays, clarifying that the issues stemmed from bureaucratic approval cycles between İLBANK and the World Bank. He confirmed that the municipality intervened to ensure all worker rights were protected and that there are no current financial obstacles to the project's continuation.
