İzmir Metropolitan Municipality warns of impersonation fraud

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has issued a warning to citizens following fraudulent attempts by unidentified individuals impersonating ESHOT General Manager and Deputy Secretary General Övünç Özgen.

Scammers have been contacting citizens and company officials via telephone, requesting bicycle donations under the guise of social assistance projects. The municipality clarified that no department or official within the organization requests in-kind or monetary donations through phone calls, emails, or messages.

Legal authorities have been notified, and the municipality is closely monitoring the judicial process. Citizens are urged not to respond to these requests and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement or official municipal communication channels immediately.
