Jacek Kurski testifies in Polish probe of former justice minister Zbigniew Ziobro

On 15 June 2026 former TVP president Jacek Kurski voluntarily appeared before the Polish National Prosecutor’s Office as a witness in the investigation into the Justice Fund scandal involving former justice minister Zbigniew Ziobro. Prosecutor Przemysław Nowak said the inquiry aimed to verify media claims that Kurski had hosted Ziobro at his residence in Washington, D.C. Kurski denied that Ziobro ever stayed in the couple’s house and called the allegations unfounded. The prosecutor emphasized that there was no suspicion that Kurski knew about any alleged escape of Ziobro from Hungary. Ziobro is suspected of 26 offences, including leading an organised criminal group and abusing his ministerial position; his parliamentary immunity was lifted in 2025. After receiving political asylum in Hungary under Viktor Orbán’s government, Ziobro later relocated to the United States. The witness interview has been concluded.
