Jack Barton emerges as top contender for James Bond role
The casting process to find a successor to Daniel Craig for the role of James Bond has reportedly entered its final stages. While several actors have been frequently linked to the role—including Henry Cavill, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jacob Elordi, and Harris Dickinson—new reports suggest the selection may be narrowing significantly.
According to Page Six, actor Jack Barton has reportedly impressed casting director Nina Gold, with some industry whispers labeling him ‘The One’. Barton is known for his roles in ‘Heartstopper’ and ‘SAS: Rogue Heroes’. His connection to the franchise may be bolstered by Steven Knight, who wrote ‘SAS: Rogue Heroes’ and is also writing the upcoming Bond film.
Other industry reports indicate that the shortlist may have been reduced to as few as three actors. Amazon MGM Studios, which now controls the franchise, confirmed that the casting process is underway, and producer Amy Pascal has suggested an announcement could arrive by the end of the year.
