Jack Hughes addresses Devils management and NHL ranking

New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes has addressed recent rumors regarding his future with the team and responded to his recent ranking by the NHL Network. In an interview with Elliotte Friedman, Hughes discussed the transition within the Devils' management, noting, “I love Tommy Fitzgerald. But, you know, our team under performed and now we got a new GM, fresh faces.”

Separately, Hughes has faced criticism from fans following the NHL Network’s top-50 players list, which ranked him at No. 26. Supporters expressed dissatisfaction on social media, arguing his ranking should be significantly higher given his performance for Team USA, including scoring the golden goal during the 2026 Winter Olympics.
