Jack Lowden emerges as top candidate for James Bond role
Speculation regarding the successor to Daniel Craig as James Bond continues to intensify, with Jack Lowden emerging as a primary candidate. Recent developments involving the Apple TV+ series ‘Slow Horses’ have fueled these rumors. Following an announcement regarding the show’s eighth season, Lowden was notably absent from the promotional materials, leading some to suggest he may be departing to take on the role of the MI6 agent.
Actor Gary Oldman has supported the speculation, stating in an interview that Lowden is on the shortlist and suggesting a choice has been made but not yet officially announced. Director Adam Randall also commented on Lowden’s suitability for the role.
In contrast, Henry Cavill has addressed his own prospects for the role. Despite being a long-standing candidate, Cavill noted in an interview with Heat Magazine that his current age of 43 might make him too old to begin a new multi-film tenure. While previous actors like Pierce Brosnan and Roger Moore debuted in their 40s, the evolving nature of film production timelines has shifted the industry focus toward younger actors such as Lowden, Callum Turner, and Jack Barton.
