Jack Miller backs Adelaide street circuit as new Australian MotoGP home
Four‑time MotoGP winner Jack Miller has voiced strong support for moving the Australian Grand Prix from the long‑standing Phillip Island venue to a city‑centre street circuit in Adelaide. The Phillip Island race will be held for the final time in 2026, after which the event will shift to Adelaide beginning in 2027. Miller argues that the remote location of Phillip Island – accessed via a single two‑lane bridge and a lengthy drive from Melbourne – has been the biggest obstacle for fans. “The hardest part is getting people to the circuits. Once they’re there, they’re hooked,” he said. He believes the Adelaide street race will make the Grand Prix far more accessible, attract new spectators and boost the sport’s growth in Australia.
Miller’s endorsement highlights the broader goal of expanding MotoGP’s reach by locating the race in a highly populated urban setting, offering spectators the chance to see the bikes race past them in the city centre.
