JaCorey Thomas joins West Virginia football roster

Former Georgia defensive back JaCorey Thomas has officially joined the West Virginia Mountaineers roster. Wearing number 30, Thomas is listed as a nickel/sam defender, a role that could provide relief for Geimere Latimer, who has been averaging approximately 59.3 snaps per game.

Thomas, who missed the first three games of the season following an Indiana court injunction regarding player eligibility, is expected to integrate into the defensive rotation. Early projections suggest he may initially see between 15 and 25 snaps per game, though his workload could increase significantly as he acclimates to defensive coordinator Zac Alley’s system and regains game shape.
