Jaecoo J5 Hybrid SUV Debuts in Vietnam with Low‑Price, High‑End Features

Chinese automaker Omoda & Jaecoo introduced the Jaecoo J5, a B‑segment hybrid SUV, to the Vietnamese market. Two top trims—SHS‑H Premium and SHS‑H Flagship—are priced at 629 million VND and 699 million VND respectively, while the entry model starts at about 569 million VND. The vehicle combines a new‑generation hybrid drivetrain with a suite of equipment typically found on more expensive SUVs, such as full‑LED lighting, double‑glazed front windows, electric folding mirrors with drying function, cruise‑control, and 18‑inch two‑tone alloy wheels on higher trims.

The J5 is positioned for young families and outdoor‑oriented buyers, featuring a pet‑friendly cabin, antimicrobial silicone‑coated seats, spacious rear seating and a large luggage compartment. Production is localized at the Hung Yen plant to reduce costs and streamline the supply chain. The model enters a crowded B‑SUV segment, competing with Japanese offerings (Mitsubishi XForce, Toyota Yaris Cross), Korean models (Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta) and Chinese rivals (Lynk & Co 06, Geely Coolray).
