Jaecoo launches J5 SUV in Vietnam with deposits accepted, prices capped at 699 million dong

Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam began accepting deposits for the locally assembled Jaecoo J5 SUV on 10 July 2026. The model is offered in four trims – J5 Premium (gasoline), two hybrid versions (SHS‑H Premium and SHS‑H Flagship) and the J5 BEV Flagship (full‑electric) – with a maximum advertised price of 569 million dong for the Premium, 629 million for the SHS‑H Premium and up to 699 million for both Flagship versions. A 10 million‑dong deposit secures a vehicle and grants the first 555 customers a 0 % financing rate for the first 12 months, one year of material insurance, and, for the BEV, a dedicated charger and T‑Box. Delivery is scheduled from August to the end of October 2026.

The J5 measures 4 380 × 1 860 × 1 650 mm with a 2 620 mm wheelbase. The hybrid versions claim more than 1 000 km range per fuel‑plus‑charge cycle, while the BEV version offers a 461 km NEDC range. Standard equipment includes LED lighting, dual‑layer acoustic glass, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, ADAS, panoramic roof (on higher trims) and six airbags. Engine warranties run for ten years or 1 000 000 km; the high‑voltage battery is covered for eight years or 200 000 km. Jaecoo cites prior sales success in Thailand, Indonesia and Australia, and promises a price‑guarantee refund of five times the deposit if the final price exceeds the announced ceiling.
