Jaguapitã man arrested for alleged femicide and causing car accident

A 39-year-old man, identified as Renato Fonseca Machado, was arrested in Maringá following the alleged fatal stabbing of his former partner, Patrícia Firmino da Silva, in Jaguapitã, Paraná.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning at the victim's residence. According to police reports, the suspect allegedly attacked the 41-year-old woman with a knife before fleeing the scene with the couple's three-year-old daughter. After leaving the child with relatives and admitting to the crime, the suspect attempted to flee in a Ford Ka.

During a police pursuit in Maringá, the suspect attempted to evade officers, resulting in a head-on collision with another vehicle. The occupants of the second car required medical attention. The suspect was taken into custody and faces charges of femicide. The investigation is being handled by the Jaguapitã Police Station.
