Recent reports indicate separate fatal incidents involving domestic disputes in Brazil. In Guarantã do Norte, Mato Grosso, a 61 year old man was fatally stabbed at his residence. Authorities allege the suspect, the ex husband of the victim's partner, entered the home to confront the woman regarding their daughter before attacking the victim with a pocketknife. The suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle and remains at large.
In Jaguapitã, Paraná, a 39 year old man was arrested following the alleged fatal stabbing of his former partner. Police reports state the suspect attacked the woman at her residence and fled with their three year old daughter. After leaving the child with relatives and admitting to the crime, the suspect allegedly attempted to evade police in a vehicle pursuit, resulting in a head on collision in Maringá. The suspect is currently in custody facing charges of femicide.
