Sun Pictures has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated Tamil film Jailer 2 is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15, 2026. The announcement, accompanied by a new poster featuring Rajinikanth, serves to dismiss recent rumors regarding potential production delays or necessary reshoots.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel reunites the filmmaker with Rajinikanth, who reprises his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The film features a diverse ensemble cast, including returning actors Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu, alongside new additions such as Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, and S J Suryah. Anirudh Ravichander is returning to compose the musical score.
