Jaipur Literature Festival expands to seven North American cities

The Jaipur Literature Festival is expanding its North American presence with a tour spanning seven cities across the United States and Canada from September 11 to October 4. The program, produced by Teamwork Arts, will include established locations such as North Carolina, Seattle, Colorado, New York, and Houston, while Los Angeles and Toronto will host the festival for the first time.

The event will feature over 100 global voices, including author-politician Shashi Tharoor, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, Booker Prize-winning author Yann Martel, and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Kai Bird. Discussions are set to cover a wide range of contemporary topics, including artificial intelligence, geopolitics, climate change, Indigenous rights, migration, and technology.

In addition to literary and political discourse, the festival will include a traveling visual art exhibition by documentary photographer Vicky Roy in Los Angeles and Seattle. Organizers stated that each edition will be shaped by the local cultural communities and partnerships of its host city.
