Bolsonaro family faces multiple investigations and court actions
Jair Bolsonaro, under a 90‑day house‑arrest, is scheduled to give a police interview about a firearm seized during a traffic stop. The Supreme Court minister Alexandre de Moraes authorized his defense team to accompany the testimony and extended their visit time. Moraes will also decide by 25 June whether Bolsonaro’s house‑arrest will continue.
Flávio Bolsonaro, a pre‑candidate for president, has intensified his pre‑campaign, launched a national security plan and travelled to the United States for the 2026 World Cup opening, with the trip’s expenses provided by an undisclosed “friend”. He is also implicated in the financing of the biopic *Dark Horse* through payments from banker Daniel Vor‑caro, a matter the Prosecutor‑General’s Office says should be assigned to STF minister André Mendonça.
Former senator Jaques Wagner (PT‑BA) was the target of the ninth phase of Operation Compliance Zero, which investigates alleged illicit benefits linked to the Master bank. Wagner’s defense has asked the Supreme Court to annul the police search and seize, arguing the assets seized are legally declared.
The Federal Police are probing a broader network involving ex‑banker Daniel Vorcaro and the liquidated Banco Master, alleging that Vorcaro provided costly meals, travel and other advantages to politicians, including Flávio Bolsonaro, and that the scheme may have extended to the former governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro. These investigations intersect with the *Dark Horse* financing case and the broader Master‑bank scandal.
