Jairam Mahato alleges viral audio of police conversation was edited

Dumri MLA Jairam Mahato has alleged that a viral audio recording of his conversation with the Barwadda Police Station in-charge has been manipulated and edited. Mahato claims that while he did speak in a stern tone with the officer regarding public interest matters, the 11-minute conversation was selectively clipped and potentially altered using artificial intelligence to misrepresent the context.

Mahato stated that the recording was a private conversation and that its unauthorized release constitutes a violation of privacy. He has threatened to file a legal case regarding this breach. He further denied allegations of physical altercations at the police station, asserting that CCTV footage from the premises would clarify the truth of the incident. He has demanded that the police station release the full video footage to resolve the dispute.
