Jakarta Baznas Bazis expands aid with house renovations, orphan grants

Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (Baznas) and its charitable arm Bazis in North Jakarta are renovating 25 homes for low‑income families under the Bedah Rumah Dhuafa 2026 program. As of the first semester, 20 residents have benefited, with 15 houses completed, five under construction and five still being assessed. The agency aims to finish 35 renovated homes by the end of 2026, financing the work entirely from zakat, infak and sedekah (ZIS) contributions collected from civil servants, companies and the public. “Pada Semester I, sebanyak 20 warga telah menjadi penerima manfaat, dengan rincian 15 rumah telah selesai dibangun…,” said program head Wisnu Cakraningrat.

In a separate initiative, Baznas Bazis DKI Jakarta distributed a total of Rp3.44 billion to 3,440 orphan children across the capital during the Santunan Muharram program. Each child received a Rp1 million package that included food, a Hypermart voucher, cash and school supplies. The ceremony, attended by Governor Pramono Anung, highlighted the partnership between the provincial government and Baznas Bazis. “Setiap keranjang belanja yang terisi bukan sekadar barang kebutuhan, melainkan simbol harapan, kemandirian, dan bukti kasih sayang kita untuk anak yatim DKI Jakarta,” said Baznas DKI chair Akhmad H Abubakar.
