Jakarta begins Rp50 billion reconstruction of two Kebayoran Lama schools

The Jakarta Provincial Government has commenced the reconstruction of two elementary schools, SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 and 11, in South Jakarta. The project is valued at approximately Rp50 billion and aims to replace buildings that collapsed more than two years ago.

Deputy Governor Rano Karno participated in the groundbreaking ceremony, noting that the project is part of an effort to restore educational facilities and ensure safe learning environments for children. The funding for the reconstruction is sourced from Floor Area Ratio (KLB) compensation funds provided by PT Wisma Nusantara Internasional, rather than the regional budget (APBD), which has been subject to efficiency measures.

Chairman of Commission E of the Jakarta DPRD, M. Subki, stated that the construction is expected to be completed within eight to nine months. The use of KLB compensation funds allowed the project to proceed despite regional budget constraints.
