Jakarta Car Free Day to end at 10:00 WIB despite state visit

The Car Free Day (CFD) event on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin in Jakarta will conclude at its usual time of 10:00 WIB on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

Earlier discussions suggested the event might end an hour early, at 09:00 WIB, to facilitate traffic flow for the state visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. However, Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Budi Awaluddin clarified that because the Sudirman route is not scheduled for use until 09:30 WIB, the public can continue activities until 10:00 WIB.

Traffic management for the presidential visit will focus on the Sudirman area. Once CFD concludes, vehicle flow will return to normal under the direction of the Jakarta Transportation Agency and the Metro Jaya Regional Police Traffic Directorate.
