Jakarta expands integrated transit with new LRT route
Jakarta is advancing its integrated urban mobility network with the inauguration of the Kelapa Gading–Manggarai LRT route. The 12.2-kilometer extension includes 11 stations, connecting North Jakarta to the city center and facilitating smoother transfers between commuter trains, airport trains, TransJakarta, and the LRT.
President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the new line at Manggarai Station, describing the development as a gradual process toward a modern urban mobility system. The expansion builds upon the existing Kelapa Gading–Velodrome corridor that has been operational since 2019.
To support commuters using the rail network, KAI Commuter provides digital resources including the C-Access application for real-time schedules and train positions. Passengers can utilize various electronic payment methods, such as the Kartu Multi Trip (KMT), bank electronic money cards, and QR-based payments.
