Jakarta expands LRT network with new routes and financial backing

Jakarta is advancing its integrated public transportation network through the development of the LRT Jakarta Kelapa Gading–Manggarai route and the upcoming Manggarai–Dukuh Atas connection.

To support the Kelapa Gading–Manggarai project, Jasaraharja Putera (JRP) has provided bank guarantee contracts to PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, including performance and advance payment guarantees. JRP stated this support is part of its commitment to providing suretyship solutions for strategic national infrastructure.

Separately, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced that construction for the Manggarai to Dukuh Atas LRT line is scheduled to begin in January 2027, with a target completion date of August 2028. The project requires an estimated budget of Rp2.7 trillion. To ensure funding, the provincial government is exploring various schemes, including regional budgets (APBD), bonds, and support from Danantara Indonesia. This expansion aims to create seamless connectivity between the LRT, the Jabodebek LRT network, and the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (Whoosh) at Halim.
