Indonesia's BMKG issues July 14 regional weather forecasts

The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released weather outlooks for July 14, 2026 covering most of the archipelago. In South Bengkulu, conditions are expected to be cloudy to hazy with temperatures between 22‑33 °C and humidity up to 97 %, prompting warnings about landslides, floods and falling trees. Central Java will see mostly sunny skies, but light rain is possible in mountainous districts such as Purbalingga, Wonosobo and Slawi, and BMKG warned of heightened forest‑fire risk due to dry air. Sumatra’s major cities—including Medan, Padang and Palembang—are forecast to be partly cloudy with chances of localized rain, thunderstorms and brief strong winds. East Java’s Surabaya, Sidoarjo and Gresik are projected to remain clear and sunny, with temperatures from 24‑31 °C and humidity between 49‑87 %; residents are advised to keep an umbrella handy. Jakarta and surrounding areas will be overcast, with a potential for light rain in Bogor later in the day; temperatures will range from 26‑32 °C. Nationwide, BMKG noted that the dry season is expanding, driven by El Niño, and warned of drought‑related impacts, increased fire danger and occasional heavy rain in parts of Papua and other regions.
