Jakarta Governor considers Saturday Car Free Day expansion

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is reviewing a proposal from the Ministry of Environment to expand Car Free Day (CFD) activities to include both Saturdays and Sundays.

Currently, CFD is held every Sunday morning at two locations: the Sudirman-Thamrin area and Rasuna Said. If the proposal is implemented, the Governor noted that the two locations cannot host CFD simultaneously on Saturdays to avoid disrupting business activities in offices, hotels, and shops. The provincial government is conducting studies to determine which specific area will be designated for Saturday sessions and expects to reach a decision soon.
