Jakarta infrastructure: LRT expansion and urban management updates

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is advancing several urban development and infrastructure initiatives. The Velodrome-Manggarai phase of the LRT Jakarta is now operational following its inauguration by President Prabowo Subianto. To continue the network's expansion toward Dukuh Atas, the Governor has requested funding support from the Danantara Investment Management Agency, noting that the extension requires approximately Rp2.7 trillion and is targeted for completion by 2029.

Regarding water security, Pramono stated that seawater desalination could become a viable solution for potential droughts if the construction of the Giant Sea Wall proceeds.

On the administrative front, the Governor has ordered crackdowns on illegal waste disposal sites (TPS), with plans to publicly name violators to create a deterrent effect. Additionally, authorities are conducting enforcement actions in the Kalijodo area to address illegal parking fees and public space misuse. The administration is also focusing on the LPDP Jakarta scholarship program, ensuring it remains targeted toward high-achieving students from low-income families through collaboration with the central LPDP agency.
