Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung reviews Transjakarta fare subsidy and Rp200k subscription plan

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced that the provincial government and the DKI Jakarta DPRD will recalculate the subsidies for Transjakarta and Transjabodetabek fares before finalising any increase. The governor said the proposal from the Jakarta City Transport Council (DTKJ) has been received and will be studied in the coming weeks, with the fare adjustment treated as a priority in the regional budget discussion.

Among the proposals under review is a monthly subscription scheme for Trans‑Jakarta priced at Rp200,000, intended to lower daily commuting costs for regular users. The DTKJ also suggested raising the regular fare by Rp5,000 and extending the existing 15 free‑rider groups. Anung pledged a swift decision on the inter‑city route to Soekarno‑Hatta Airport and affirmed that any fare hike would mainly affect those able to bear it.
