Jakarta Governor Pramono threatens aid cuts for littering and denies new odd‑even toll rule

Governor Pramono Anung of DKI Jakarta announced that residents caught dumping waste into rivers could lose their social assistance benefits, including the city’s Bansos program, Kartu Jakarta Pintar (KJP) and Kartu Jakarta Mahasiswa Unggul (KJMU). He said, "Kalau memang ditemukan ada masyarakat yang membuang sampah di sungai, tentunya Pemerintah DKI Jakarta tidak segan‑segan untuk mengambil sikap tegas," linking the measure to the governor’s Instruction No. 5/2026 on waste sorting and recycling.

On a separate statement, Pramono clarified that no new odd‑even traffic regulation has been introduced for Jakarta toll gate entrances. Citing the 2019 regional regulation, he said, "Tidak ada peraturan baru mengenai ganjil genap," and explained that existing odd‑even rules apply only to roads that intersect toll access points, not to the tollways themselves.
