Jakarta Police arrest debt collector for forcing entry into moving vehicle

Police in West Jakarta have arrested a debt collector following a viral incident in which the individual allegedly forced his way into a moving vehicle on the West Outer Ring Road in Cengkareng.

Footage circulating on social media shows a man in black clothing and a red hat inside a car, shouting that vehicle installments had not been paid and demanding the driver pull over. The individual is accused of entering the vehicle without permission, threatening the driver, and allegedly placing the driver in a neck restraint while the car was in motion. The video also captured a verbal altercation between the man and a female passenger who recorded the event.

Jakarta Barat Metro Police Commissioner Nasriadi and Cengkareng Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Parman Gultom confirmed the suspect has been taken into custody. Authorities are currently investigating the chronology of the incident and the identity of the perpetrator.
