Kampung Bahari narcotics raid involves 1,800 personnel

A massive joint narcotics operation was conducted in the Kampung Bahari area of Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Approximately 1,800 personnel from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Bareskrim Polri, Polda Metro Jaya, and Brimob participated in the raid.

To maintain secrecy and access difficult terrain near the railway tracks, officers utilized the KRL Commuter Line to mobilize to the target area. KAI Commuter confirmed the use of a special train (KLB) on the Jakarta Kota-Tanjung Priok route to facilitate this movement.

Authorities reported seizing hundreds of grams of crystal methamphetamine (sabu), marijuana, and thousands of ecstasy pills. Notably, police discovered an ecstasy pill-pressing machine at the scene, along with firearms, sharp weapons, and drug paraphernalia.

Between 26 and 29 people were detained during the operation. While some suspects were identified as users, others were suspected of being dealers or owners of the narcotics. Lawmakers from Commission III of the DPR have urged police to expand the investigation to dismantle the larger supply networks and financial structures behind the distribution.
