Jakarta prepares traffic management and public promos for 499th anniversary celebrations

The DKI Jakarta provincial government will implement situational traffic engineering for the peak of the 499th Jakarta anniversary on Saturday, 27 June 2026. Roads around Bundaran Hotel Indonesia—including segments of Sudirman, Thamrin, Mashabi, Sutan Syahrir, Imam Bonjol, Kotabumi, Teluk Betung and Sumenep—will be managed with phased closures, alternative routes and 475 traffic‑control personnel. Designated parking bays will be opened and public transport will be reinforced to maintain mobility for residents and event attendees.

Simultaneously, a city‑wide promotion program offers free admission on 22, 27 and 28 June 2026 to Ancol, Ragunan Zoo and the National Monument, and reduces LRT, MRT and TransJakarta fares to Rp 1 on the same days. Additional discounts are available at several local food outlets such as HokBen, Gokana, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Chatime, Cupbop and Go! Go! Curry.
