Jakarta targets reduction of stunting prevalence to 14 percent

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has set a target to reduce the stunting prevalence in Jakarta from approximately 17 percent to 14 percent within the next two years.

To achieve this, the provincial government is strengthening the role of Pos Pelayanan Terpadu (Posyandu) as a primary tool for prevention and handling. This initiative includes increasing cadre capacity, monitoring child growth, providing nutritional education, and implementing the ‘Smart Posyandu’ program.

As of current data, the Smart Posyandu system has been implemented in 3,148 out of 4,469 Posyandu locations in Jakarta, reaching a coverage rate of 70.44 percent. The transformation aims to create a more integrated, data-driven, and technology-supported community health service.
