Indonesia weather: BMKG forecasts widespread clouds and light rain
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued various weather forecasts across Indonesia. In Banten, despite recent rainfall, the region remains in the peak of the dry season, with more consistent wet conditions not expected until November 2026.
Nationwide, much of Indonesia is expected to experience cloudy skies to light rain. Specific areas such as northern and central Sumatra, northern Kalimantan, and parts of West Java, including Serang and Bandung, are prone to light rain. Eastern Indonesia, including parts of Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, also faces potential light rain.
In West Java, regions including Bogor, Depok, Sukabumi, Cianjur, and Bandung are forecasted to see light to moderate rain, with warnings for potential lightning and strong winds. Meanwhile, East Java, specifically around Surabaya, is expected to remain mostly sunny. In Sumatra, weather varies from cloudy to heavy rain in Aceh, North Sumatra, and parts of Riau and Jambi.
BMKG has also warned of hazy conditions in parts of Sumatra and East Kalimantan, as well as potential cumulonimbus cloud growth that could impact aviation in several regions.
