BMKG issues overcast and rain forecasts across Indonesia for July 27‑28 2026

Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released a series of weather outlooks for 27–28 July 2026 covering most of the archipelago. In the capital, Jakarta, the agency expects mostly cloudy to overcast skies from morning through night, temperatures rising to 35 °C in the afternoon and wind speeds up to 25 km/h, with a slight chance of rain in the evening. Yogyakarta province is forecast to be mostly sunny, with maximum temperatures around 32 °C and wind gusts of 21 km/h, though strong breezes may affect the southern part of the region. Sumatra Selatan faces light to moderate rain from 28 to 31 July, driven by an easterly flow and an active Madden‑Julian Oscillation; several districts are highlighted for possible showers. Central Java’s coastal tourism spots, including Karimunjawa, are expected to enjoy clear, partly cloudy weather with temperatures between 20 and 31 °C, supporting beach and water‑recreation activities. In Malang and Batu, the forecast is chiefly sunny but with localized fog at night, brief afternoon showers in mountainous zones, and southern sea waves up to 2.5 m. BMKG advises residents and visitors to keep monitoring updates, especially where wind, fog, or rain may develop, and to stay hydrated during the peak daytime heat.
