Jakarta traffic police launch mobile driver’s license kiosks and explain odd‑even toll rule

The Traffic Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya) opened a mobile driver’s licence (SIM) renewal service at five locations in the capital. The kiosks operate from 08:00 to 12:00 and serve SIM A and SIM C holders whose licences are still valid. Applicants must bring a photocopy of an active KTP, the original licence, health‑check proof and a psychological‑test result from the Simpel Pol app. The renewal fee is Rp80,000 for SIM A and Rp75,000 for SIM C, plus additional costs for the tests. Completely expired licences must be applied for at a designated police office.

In a separate statement, the same directorate clarified that the odd‑even traffic restriction at Jakarta toll‑gate entrances is not a new policy. It follows Governor Regulation No 88/2019, which applies the odd‑even system to certain main‑road segments that intersect with toll‑gate access points. The rule does not apply inside the toll road itself, which remains under Jasa Marga’s jurisdiction. Enforcement is carried out through ETLE cameras, and drivers are advised to verify the list of affected gates with the DKI Transport Department.
