Jakarta witnesses armed motorcycle theft and cooking‑oil shop robbery

In East Jakarta, a homeowner confronted two thieves who attempted to steal a motorcycle and brandished a pistol. The victim, Riska, yelled, "Ada dua orang, pas saya lihat motor mau dibawa, saya teriak minta tolong," and later said, "Saya takut karena pelaku langsung mengarahkan pistol ke saya." No one was injured, but the bike was taken and the police were notified.

In West Jakarta's Tambora district, a 25‑year‑old man identified as P stole a cardboard box containing eight packs of cooking oil from a local shop. CCTV captured the act, and after a brief pursuit the police apprehended the suspect within two hours. He faces a theft charge carrying up to five years in prison.
