Jamaica stages multiple music festivals during Independence weekend

The Best Weekend Ever series returns for its fifth edition from August 6‑10, 2025, offering seven food‑inclusive events across Ocho Rios, including the Rise and Toast brunch, the I Love Soca Cooler Festival featuring Spragga Benz and Fay‑Ann Lyons, and other themed parties at Plantation Cove and Puerto Seco Beach.

Sun Up, a sunrise party founded by promoter Peter Hall, stages its 2026 edition on July 31 at the historic Folly Lighthouse in Port Antonio. The event, part of a three‑times‑yearly series and marking a decade of the brand in 2027, combines live music, local cuisine and cultural displays to celebrate Emancipation Day and Independence.

Both festivals attract local and overseas visitors, highlighting Jamaica’s tourism appeal during the national holiday period.
