Jamaican charities provide back-to-school support for students

Various charitable organizations in Jamaica have launched initiatives to support students ahead of the upcoming academic year.

The National Education Trust (NET) held its Back-to-School Pop-Up Village at Barbary Hall Primary and Infant School in St Elizabeth. Supported by partners including Jamaica Impact Inc, JN Foundation, eLearning Jamaica, VM Foundation, and Unicycle Jamaica, the event provided school supplies, uniforms, and medical services to approximately 800 students from 20 different schools.

In St Thomas, the Smile Saver Foundation hosted its annual Back-to-School Treat and Education Assistance Programme at Dalvey Primary and Infant School. The initiative provided essential supplies and resources to over 200 students. The foundation, which also focuses on oral-hygiene education, aimed to empower children in low-socioeconomic communities through these educational support programs.
