Jamaican organizations provide educational support for students
Various organizations in Jamaica are providing educational support to students ahead of the new school year through community initiatives and sports-related fundraising.
Woodcats International Limited held its annual back-to-school event in Kingston, providing more than 100 primary and high school students with books, school supplies, and book vouchers. The initiative targeted surrounding communities such as Gordon Road, Paisley Road, and Craig Town, while also supporting employees whose children are beneficiaries.
Additionally, the Flow Foundation announced a $750,000 donation in book vouchers for three schools: Aberdeen High School in St Elizabeth, Anchovy Primary School in St James, and Grange Hill High School in Westmoreland. The funds were raised through the ‘Every Six Is a Give Back’ campaign during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in Jamaica, where the foundation pledged $10,000 for every six struck during matches at Sabina Park.
