JAMB introduces NIN alignment service and updates admission processes
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced several initiatives to streamline academic and professional transitions for Nigerian students and graduates.
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria has begun uploading candidate names to the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) for the 2026/2027 academic session. This process is intended for applicants who participated in the university’s Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercises. Candidates are advised to monitor their status via the JAMB e-Facility portal, noting that updates may appear in stages.
In a separate development, JAMB Registrar Prof. Segun Aina announced the launch of a new NIN alignment service. This service aims to resolve discrepancies between JAMB records and National Identification Number (NIN) data, which has prevented thousands of graduates from participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The initiative is designed to allow candidates to update their biodata to match official identity records, removing administrative bottlenecks for those who have been unable to proceed to national service for several years.
