JAMB restores CAPS after four-day disruption

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fully restored its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) following a 96-hour disruption. The board attributed the temporary unavailability to an administrative challenge involving its hosting organization and has since worked with service providers to stabilize the platform.

JAMB has directed tertiary institutions to accelerate their admission processes for the 2026/2027 academic session to recover time lost during the outage. Specific deadlines for concluding admissions remain in place: public universities must finish by October 31, 2026; private universities by November 30, 2026; and other tertiary institutions by December 31, 2026.

Following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination results, JAMB advised candidates awaiting these credentials to upload or verify them immediately. This step is intended to ensure results are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission activities. Candidates who have already received admission offers are urged to accept them promptly through the platform.
