JAMB updates registration rules and admission verification

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has implemented several changes to its registration and admission processes. The board has removed the requirement for candidates to provide an email address during the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration phases. This change aims to protect candidates from cybercriminals and fraudulent operators at internet cafes who may steal email credentials.

Candidates can now access their profiles and examination information via a mobile application or through specific SMS services. Once the registration exercise is officially closed, candidates will be required to provide their email addresses for validation and information access.

Additionally, JAMB has issued a warning to candidates regarding the validity of university admissions. The board stated that any admission offered outside of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) may not be recognized as valid. Candidates are urged to verify their admission status through CAPS to avoid academic complications and ensure their records are properly processed.
