Jameis Winston leads New York Giants following Jaxson Dart injury
New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston has taken over the starting role following a season-ending knee injury to Jaxson Dart. While Winston recently led the team to a 12-7 victory over the Tennessee Titans, his performance has drawn scrutiny regarding his arm strength and accuracy.
Some analysts have speculated that Winston may be playing through an undisclosed injury, noting that routine passes have frequently fallen short. Winston has pushed back against these criticisms, suggesting that his recent style of play—focusing on game management rather than high-volume passing—is a different approach to winning games.
In response to the quarterback situation, the Giants traded a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for former first-round pick J. J. McCarthy to serve as a backup.
