James Bond casting to be announced by end of 2026

Producer Amy Pascal said the next James Bond will likely be revealed by the end of 2026, noting that the casting process is in its final stage and being handled “very, very methodically.” She emphasized that the new actor must be “something really different, stirring and exciting,” reflecting the difficulty of following Daniel Craig’s 15‑year tenure.

The upcoming film, informally referred to as Bond 26, will be directed by Denis Villeneuve and scripted by Steven Knight. Amazon MGM Studios now controls the franchise, with Pascal and fellow producer David Heyman overseeing development. Candidates such as Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi, Louis Partridge, Harris Dickinson and others have been mentioned in speculation, but no official name has been confirmed.

The announcement is expected before the year’s end, after which production is slated to begin in 2027 and the film is targeted for a 2028 release.
