James Bond casting: Jack Lowden emerges as frontrunner for 007 role

Speculation regarding the next James Bond actor continues as production details emerge for the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios reboot. While an official announcement has not been made, writer Steven Knight has suggested that the casting decision has already been finalized, and producer Amy Pascal indicated that an announcement could arrive by the end of the year.

Jack Lowden is currently cited as the frontrunner to succeed Daniel Craig. However, James Bond author Charlie Higson has expressed reservations about the choice, stating that Lowden may not be a “convincing” hand-to-hand fighter for the role. Higson also commented on other potential candidates, noting that Jacob Elordi might be too tall and Callum Turner possesses “unconventional looks.”

The untitled project, often referred to as James Bond 26, is expected to be directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Steven Knight.
